US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved programs including "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA this Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.

"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a message.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, including:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, peer Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.

The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
