Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

The author

Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
