Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and through an impressive display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the biggest winner. The standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the esteemed Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the developer's triumph, the skilled performers also received personal awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Supporting Performance Award for his work as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected 7 awards during the ceremony.
Additional notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Top Sound Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. It is important to note, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only four special—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by reviewers.
