Plans for a trio of fresh gambling venues in New York City has become given the go-ahead, fueling a debate over economic benefits and community impacts while gambling participation soars around the nation.

A state licensing board has endorsed a trio of potential gambling projects—a pair situated in Queens along with one in Bronx. The panel determined the developments could generate many positions and generate billions of tax revenue during the coming decade.
