The Initial Game Pass Games of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Across the gaming landscape, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing about PlayStation unprecedentedly. The past year represented an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox continues to plan to draw people in with quality releases on its key platform.
The Available Now Titles
The duo of games currently accessible today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Major Titles on the Horizon
On Jan. 13, the subscription service will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up conventional open-world tropes with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of terror and combat."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
However, the more modest titles set to join the catalog are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, becomes available next week — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription alone. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — which makes them excellent choices to experience a revival on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
