Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
These accusations come after an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
